Mark it down as another strong week for the East Jackson cross country teams, as they swept a meet in Madison County, then placed fourth and ninth in Conyers over the weekend.
They’ll travel to Lexington Saturday for the Oglethorpe Invitational.
Both the boys’ and girls’ teams came away with wins Tuesday, topping Madison County and Commerce in the process.
For the boys, Cale Pirtle placed first with Edward Stone, Stuart Robinett, Tyler Cone and Adrian Woodruff placing. Others running competing were Mike Adair, Cory McClung, Kyle Wood, Quentin Rice, Jake Thaxton, Stephen Bramlett, Dylan Anderson and Sam Derochers.
Sherri Blalock paced the girls, followed by Amanda Anderson, Courtney McDowell, Skyler Cozzens, Sheena McEachin, McKenzie Parr, Corbin Williams, Cora McDowell and Liz Allred.
On Saturday, the teams traveled to Conyers for the Patriot Invite.
The girls placed fourth out of 17 teams, while the boys finished ninth out of 20 teams.
For the girls, Sherri Blalock turned in the top finish at second overall. Courtney McDowell placed 2oth, with Sheena McEachin finishing 26th, Skyler Cozzens 42nd, Amanda Anderson 44th and McKenzie Parr 45th.
Other competitors included Corbin Williams, Cora McDowell, Robin Adair, Rayanne Waters and Elizabeth Allred.
For the boys, Cale Pirtle turned in the top performance with a 26th-place effort out of 149 runners. Stuart Robinett placed 37th, Ed Stone finished 50th and Tyler Cone 65th.
Other competitors included Mike Adair, Quenton Rice, Kyle Wood, Jordan Presley, Stephen Bramlett, Valdik Staples, Dylan Anderson, Adrian Woodruff, Jake Thaxton and Rhett Vanderford.
