Lady Eagles Defeat Jackson Co.

East Jackson started out the week against Tallulah Falls, coming away with a 2-1 loss with set scores of 25-15, 21-25 and 25-19.

That was followed by a match against East Hall, which the Lady Vikings won 2-1 with set scores of 25-20, 19-25 and 23-25.

Rebekah Poponi, with 12 kills and 13 digs on the night, Kiersten Meehan, with 23 service points, including five aces, Jill Edmondson with 13 digs and Rosie Melendez with 10 assists, led the Eagle effort.

Monday night, the Lady Eagles traveled to Jackson County to face the Lady Panthers and East Hall.

The night started against the Lady Vikings, who won 2-1, with set scores of 20-25, 25-11 and 24-26.

Up next was the pairing between East Jackson and Jackson County, with the Lady Eagles coming away with the 2-1 victory with set scores of 12-25, 25-21 and 26-24.

Kiersten Meehan had five aces and 10 kills on the night. Jenna Dukes had five aces, 12 digs and 15 service points, while Rebekah Poponi had six aces, 14 digs and 17 service points. Haley Simmons added six kills, five assists and four blocks, Jill Edmondson had five aces and 10 kills and Rosie Melendez had 15 digs.
