The regular season is almost over for the Red Raiders’ softball team; Madison County plays the final game before the region tournament today (Thursday) at Clarke Central at 5 p.m.
This week has been a big one for the ladies. Not only have the girls knocked out region opponent Heritage from the number one spot in the region, the Red Raiders’ softball team is also the top-ranked team in the state in the coaches poll posted at ga.prepcountry.com.
With an important win over Heritage (20-6, 7-2) on Tuesday night (9-4), Madison County (23-3, 7-2) will now face a struggling Clarke Central squad to finish out the regular season. The Gladiators are 0-10 this season in region competition.

Congrats to the girls and coaches for a wonderful season. Hope it continues. The people who follow this program know what an honor it is to play at Madison county. We have the best fields, coaches and for the past couple seasons, best teams in this part of the state. If you are a sports fan, don't miss the chance to see these girls play.
