Jefferson finished fifth out of 17 girls’ teams at the Eagle Run, placing behind region rivals Jackson County (third) and East Jackson (fourth).
Running in their fourth meet of the year, the Lady Dragons boasted a trio of 20 finishers in the 122-runner field.
Cara Smith led Jefferson with a 13th-place finish, running a 22:28. Freshman Reese Bowles placed 16th with a 22:36.
Alison Missler was the only other Lady Dragon runner to break the 23:00 minute mark, finishing 17th with a 22:42.
Rounding out the scoring for Jefferson were Holly Baron (24:22, 46th) and Maggie Adams (24:37, 54th).
Jefferson returns to action Oct. 2 for a large meet at Oglethorpe County.
