Elliott Keeps It In The Family At GMP

At the drop of the green flag, Elliott roared away from the field, leaving Pollard, Ben Kennedy, Johnny Henderson and Allen Karnes to fight for the runner-up position. Eventually, Pollard worked his way away
from the crowd to challenge Elliott late only to come up short at the finish.

Kennedy, in one of the best runs of his young career, came home third with Henderson, Karnes, Jimmy Garmon, Scott Sutherland, Kevin Dicks and Roger Delp all running at the finish.

Elliott’s win had also earned him a guaranteed spot in the 27th-Annual World Crown 300 super late model race at Gresham Motorsports Park on Nov. 14. Earlier this season, Elliott also gained an automatic starting spot for the Pro Late Model portion of this year’s World Crown weekend with a win at GMP on April 17.

Elliott wasn’t the only one to taste victory Saturday as Brian Hardman broke into the winner’s column in the Outlaw Late Model division for the first time this season.

Meanwhile, Steve Hill came home first in the Mini-Stock main event while Bill Hoose captured the 35-lap Truck Series main event.

Jody Trivett rolled to his second win in the Renegade Street Stock Division while Will Fagan rounded out the list of winners capturing both 20-lap Mini-Cup main events on the GMP quarter-mile oval.
