EJCHS To Host Eagle Run Sat.

The East Jackson Cross Country teams will return to action this week as they host the fourth annual Eagle Run at EJCHS on Saturday.

Teams expected to take part include Apalachee, East Hall, Habersham Central, Jackson County, Jefferson, Madison County and Rabun County.

It will be the first meet for the teams since their season opener at Athens Christian on Aug. 28, where the girls recorded a fourth-place effort, Sherri Blalock taking third overall out of 143 runners.

The boys meanwhile finished 11th, with Cale Pirtle placing 30th out of 205 runners.

The East Jackson teams had been scheduled to take part in the Orthopedic Run at Carrollton, but coaches decided not to make the journey because of the expense.

East Jackson was slated to take part in the West Hall Invitational at Oakwood on Tuesday. Results were unavailable at press time.
