Volley Eagles To Face Panthers Monday

Things didn’t go as well against Jefferson, as the Lady Eagles lost 2-0, with set scores of 11-25 and 16-25.

On Thursday, East Jackson hosted Rabun County and West Hall. The Lady Eagles recorded a 2-0 victory over Rabun, with set scores of 25-20 and 25-14. Dukes recorded five kills, with Simmons having seven kills and Brittany Smith six assists.

The Lady Eagles lost in their match against West Hall 2-0 a little later, in sets of 22-25 and 14-25. In that match, Dukes and Simmons had three kills apiece and Rebekah Poponi had four aces.

On Saturday, East Jackson traveled to East Hall to take part in six matches.

The day began with a match against Habersham Central, which resulted in a 2-0 loss for the Lady Eagles in sets of 18-25 and 20-25.

That was followed by a pairing with Winder-Barrow, which East Jackson won 2-1 in sets of 19-25, 25-23 and 25-11.

Up next was a match against Eastside, who handed the Lady Eagles their second loss of the day, 2-1, with set scores of 19-25, 25-23 and 15-25.

East Jackson then faced Jackson County, winning 2-0 in set scores of 25-21 and 25-19.

Next was a match with Lumpkin County, which defeated East Jackson 2-1 in sets of 23-25, 25-20 and 20-25.

The day wrapped up with a pairing against Johnson, which beat East Jackson 2-0.

Overall for the play date, Meehan recorded 16 kills, Simmons had 10 kills, six assists and five blocks and Poponi had 10 kills and four blocks. Jill Edmondson and Rosie Melendez had 11 assists apiece.
