Four Mill Creek athletes placed in the State Boys All Class Track and Field Championships this past week at Jefferson Memorial Stadium.
Ramael Wilson, Michael Kopanski, Colin Conroy and Brian Graham each scored a top six finish to earn the Hawks a team total of ten points.
Mill Creek finished in a three-way tie for thirteenth place out of a field of 35 schools. McEachern and Marietta High Schools tied for first with a total of 46 points.
The top six athletes in each event scored points for their respective teams. Each first place finish was worth ten points. A second place finish earned eight points, third place earned six points, fourth place equaled four points, fifth place two points and sixth place earned one point.
Ramael Wilson scored the top finish for the Hawks during the championships. Wilson placed third in the shot put with his throw of 50’ 5”.
Brian Graham placed fifth in the 110m hurdles with his time of 14.510. Graham’s time broke his school record of 14.72 seconds.
Graham also qualified for state in the 300m hurdles. Graham missed placing in the 300m hurdles by .08 seconds, finishing seventh with a time of 39.220.
Michael Kopanski placed sixth at state in the pole vault. Kopanski cleared 13’0”. His previous best vault was 12’6”.
In the 3200m run, Mill Creek’s Colin Conroy placed sixth with a time of 9:49.94.
Kevin Darley, Joey Mooney and Andre Tostes also competed at the state meet.
