It is closing in on two years since the Apalachee High School football team tasted defeat in a regular season contest.
Oct, 24, 2008 was the date in fact when the Wildcats fell to Heritage. Last week Flowery Branch won a 52-35 shootout in a game in which AHS amassed 560 yards on the ground and had additional points taken off the board because of penalties.

Let me say how much I truly enjoy the sports section each week in The Barrow Journal. Mr. Chris Bridges has been fairer than anyone else when it comes to giving equal coverage to Apalachee High School and Winder Barrow High School. You can tell he understands football in the way his articles are written. I also enjoy seeing the great pictures this paper has week after week (and not just because my son has been in there mind you.) Keep up the great work. Fans in this area have waited a long time for a paper like this.
