Eagles Travel To Carrollton Sat.

After a weekend off, the East Jackson cross country Eagles will return to action on Saturday, as they travel to Carrollton to take part in the Orthopedic Invitational.

Among the schools expected to attend are Athens Christian, Flowery Branch, Mill Creek, Winder-Barrow and Archer.

Both the boys’ and girls’ teams travel to Carrollton fresh off of a strong season opener at Athens Christian on Aug. 28.

The girls came away with a fourth-place effort out of 18 teams. Sherri Blalock placed third overall out of 143 runners.

The boys placed 11th out of 26 schools. Cale Pirtle paced the Eagles’ effort with a 30th-place finish out of 205 runners.
