A missed field goal just over six minutes into Friday night's game at Oconee County may have been the difference between having a shot at victory and defeat for the East Jackson Eagles, who came up just three points short in the end, losing to the Warriors 17-14.
Both teams held each other at a draw through the first quarter, with East Jackson drawing first blood just over four minutes into the second. The Eagles came up with the ball after a botched field goal attempt by Oconee County. The Eagles would run the ball all the way back to the Warriors' end zone, scoring the first points of the night.
