The Lady Tigers enter play this week looking to rebound from a rough outing in the Towns County Invitational that saw them go 1-3 on the weekend.
Commerce will host Social Circle in a region pairing on Thursday. The game was originally slated to be played at Social Circle, but a scheduling conflict moved it to Commerce instead. The first pitch is at 5:45.
The Lady Redskins are fresh off a loss to George Walton Academy. They currently stand 3-2 overall and 2-2 in the region.

Lady Tigers Host Social Circle Thursday
“They are always very sound,” said Commerce coach Pam Canup. “They make very few mistakes. We should be very evenly matched, and I think it will be a very good, close game. It will come down to who makes the fewest mistakes.”
Tournament Play
The Lady Tigers spent much of their weekend at the Towns County Invitational. Play opened on Thursday, with Commerce facing host Towns County, and the Lady Tigers won 14-2 in five innings.
Senior Beth Pritchett picked up the win from the mound, striking out five batters and allowing only one walk.
From there, however, things went downhill. On Saturday, they opened against Banks County, resulting in a 10-0 loss. They moved on to face Chestatee, losing 9-3, before ending their tournament against Pickens County, which won 8-0.
“We played a lot of different people,” Canup said. “Everybody got a chance to play and a chance to hit. We were trying to see that we do have the right people in the right positions.”
Canup said her team had a bad game against Banks County with a lot of errors, but that their performance actually improved from there.
“As the day progressed, they got better and the day went better as far as playing and hitting the ball and doing some things,” she said. “We played some really good teams, and that’s what you want to do, play some good ones and prove that you’ve got some things to work on.”
