Jefferson is now 8-3 after a pair of road losses to Hebron Christian and Flowery Branch Tuesday.
The Dragons return to action Thursday at Rabun County at 6 p.m. and will host a play date Saturday at the Jefferson gym, featuring six teams. Action starts at 9 a.m.
Playing both matches Tuesday at Hebron’s Dacula campus, the Dragons fell to the host Lions 25-16, 25-19 in the first contest.
Cassie Metcalf led Jefferson with five kills and two aces. Taylor Cramsey added five kills and one ace, while Amanda Daniel had three kills and seven assists. Brianna Patterson added two aces.
"We made too many unforced errors against a very good Hebron team,” coach Mike Paul said.
In the second match, Jefferson fell to Flowery branch 25-16, 25-19.
Cramsey led Jefferson with five kills, while Metcalf had four kills and two aces. Other notable performances came from Amanda Daniel (six assists, two kills) and Sarah Wood (two kills, two assists).
"Flowery Branch played great defense and played us as tough as any opponent this year so far,” Paul said.
Prior to Tuesday's matches, Jefferson moved to 8-1 with victories over Archer and George Walton Academy (GWA) last Thursday in a tri-match on the road at Archer High School.
The Dragons defeated Archer 25-16, 25-18 behind Daniel’s 16 assists, six aces and three kills. Metcalf had five kills and four aces, while Eden Starnes added seven kills.
Jefferson then beat GWA 25-21, 23-25, 25-16. Wood played a “very solid floor game,” according to Paul, as the Dragons broke a school record for blocks in the match with seven.
Daniel continued to be the playmaker with 22 assists, four kills and two aces. Other standouts were Metcalf (six kills, seven aces and four digs), Cramsey (15 kills — eight of which were in game three — three aces and two blocks) and Starnes (four kills and two blocks).
