Rain wreaked havoc with the schedules of several high school softball programs last week, including that of the Commerce Lady Tigers.
Last Tuesday’s match-up with Athens Christian was washed out, as was Saturday’s Commerce tournament, which has been rescheduled for Saturday, Sept. 25.
Next up for the Lady Tigers is more tournament play, beginning Thursday at Young Harris College.
The Lady Tigers will open play against Towns County.
Commerce softball coach Pam Canup said that the Lady Indians can be “kind of streaky.”
So far, Towns had gone 0-3, with losses to Commerce and to Social Circle.
Going into play this week, Canup said hopefully her squad has itself sorted out.
“We all got our first-game jitters out, so hopefully, it will be a much better game on our part,” she said. “We had good moments and bad moments on our part in that game. Hopefully, since we’ve all played games now, we can get down to playing our kind of ball.”
