Last Friday’s scrimmage against Hart County shouldn’t be indicative of what Madison County football fans will see this season, but it did give the team a look at what to expect from Flowery Branch next Friday night in the season opener.
“We knew we were in for an uphill climb,” said coach Randell Owens. “It was your typical early scrimmage with a million errors. Hart County took control of it pretty quick and we battled back, but they steadily pulled away with it. There was a lot of good things we saw happen, but just too many mistakes.”
If scores would have mattered in the scrimmage, Hart County won 36-7 over Madison County. As strange as it may sound, that is exactly what coach Owens was needing for the scrimmage.
