Bulldoggs battle Dacula to wire

The first stage of the David Wagner era at Winder-Barrow High School was witnessed Friday night at W. Clair Harris Stadium.

The Bulldoggs hosted Dacula in a preseason scrimmage falling 27-21 to the visiting Class AAAAA Falcons. The varsity squads played the first three quarters while the junior varsity closed things out in the fourth quarter.

"We saw many good things," Wagner said. "It's a work in progress. Sometimes the first step you take is the toughest."

WBHS will now have two weeks to prepare for its season opener against Rockdale County Aug. 27, also at home. The Rockdale Bulldoggs advanced to the state semifinals a year ago.
