Lady Leopards host Chestatee in season opener

Leading up to opening day, the girls spent last month in practice and exhibition games to go undefeated throughout the summer. Coach Dean Goodwin has stressed the importance of the summer workouts and games since the Lady Leopards head directly into the season.

The motivation for the team is simple – to be the best. The overall goal for the girls is also just as simple – to win the state title.
“The season will be a success if we can win the last game and raise the trophy,” Goodwin said.

While the girls get ready to step onto the field today to begin their campaign for the state title, the real challenges will come later on the schedule when Banks County starts region play. The first region game is Aug. 26, when the Lady Leopards host Union County.

Before that first region game, the team will play in the Stephens County Tournament Aug. 20-21. Competing in the tournament is Stephens County, Lumpkin, and East Jackson.
