BC 2-0 after first summer game

After a week of practice, the Banks County Lady Leopards softball team has already shown that the girls have a drive to win, picking up the first two summer league games last Thursday.

Despite the win, the Lady Leopards still have plenty of work ahead before the season begins in August.

"The girls are working hard and getting better," said head coach Dean Goodwin. Goodwin, who begins his second season as the coach for the team, measures success simply and succinctly - to win.

"The season will be a success if we can win the last game and raise the trophy," Goodwin said.

The girls have already shown that the drive is there after last season's push into the state playoffs Final 16.

"We were really close last year, so returners have that drive."

Overall, the Lady Leopards are looking at a younger team...
