Ten Sharks Swim To State

Among those who qualified were Kate Massey, third, 10-under 25-yard butterfly; Kendell Moon, second, girls’ 12-under 50-yard breaststroke, third, 100-yard intermediate; Hannah McRee, second, 14-under 50-yard breaststroke, third, 14-under 50-yard freestyle; Emmie Burley, first, 14-under 50-yard butterfly, third, 14-under 50-yard backstroke; Hayden McRee, second, girls’ 18-under 50-yard backstroke, third, 18-under 50-yard breaststroke; and Tori Smallwood, second, 18-under 100-yard freestyle, third, 18-under 50-yard butterfly.

The team of Emmie Burley, Tori Smallwood, Hannah McRee and Hayden McRee took second in the 18-under 200-yard freestyle and second in the 19-under 200-yard medley.

Other qualifiers included Dawson Knick, third, boys’ 14-under 50-yard freestyle; Dalton Dean, second, boys’ 14-under 50-yard backstroke, second, 50-yard butterfly; and Jonathan Book, second, 18-under 50-yard freestyle, third, 100-yard freestyle.

The team of Dawson Knick, Dalton Dean, Jonathan Book and Clay Pritchett took second in the 18-under 200-yard freestyle and second in the 18-under 200-yard medley.
Before they head to state, however, the Tiger Sharks will compete in the North Georgia Swim League Championships Friday and Saturday in Habersham County and in Gainesville.
