Four members of the Commerce Tiger Sharks swim team came home with seven first-place honors from an invitational meet in Dacula on June 26.
They’ll return to action Saturday at the district meet, which will also serve as the state qualifier, at the Frances Meadows Aquatic Center in Gainesville.
Among those taking top honors June 26 were Lauren Massey in the girls’ 6-under freestyle and in the girls’ 6-under backstroke; Adia Burley in the girls’ 10-under freestyle; Kyla McCook in the girls’ 10-under freestyle, the 10-under backstroke, and the 10-under butterfly; and Jonathan Book in the boys 18-under freestyle.
McCook also placed sixth in the girls’ 10-under breaststroke, while Burley placed third in the girls’ 10-under backstroke. Book would place second in the boys’ 18-under butterfly, third in the boys’ 18-under breaststroke and fourth in the boys’ 18-under backstroke.
The team of McCook, Burley, Jessie Pritchett and Kennedy Smith brought home first place in the girls’ 10-under freestyle relay.
Top three finishers included Kennedy Smith, second, girls’ 10-under freestyle; Madison Davis, second, girls’ 10-under butterfly; and Jessie Pritchett, third, girls 10-under freestyle.
Marissa Fullard placed third in the girls’ 8-under backstroke, fourth in the 8-under freestyle and seventh in the 8-under breaststroke. Kennedy Smith placed third in the girls’ 10-under butterfly and fourth in the 10-under backstroke.
Other top ten placers include Austin Ackerman, fourth, boys’ 6-under freestyle; Samantha Davidson, eighth, girls’ 8-under freestyle; Madison Davis, 10th, girls’ 10-under freestyle; Grace Hobbs, 10th, girls’ 6-under backstroke.
Also, Alex Vandiver, 10th, boys’ 8-under backstroke; Jessie Pritchett, fifth, girls’ 10-under backstroke; and Katherine Garrison, ninth, girls’ 8-under butterfly.
The team of Logan Collins, Carson Hobbs, Grace Hobbs and Lauren Massey placed fourth in the girls’ 6-under freestyle relay while Marissa Fullard, Abigail Suarez, Danielle Hansard and Megan Suber placed sixth in the girls’ 8-under freestyle relay. The team of Ethan Fullard, William Suber, Alex Vandiver and Decator Dunagan finished sixth in the boys’ 8-under relay and Samantha Davidson, Katherine Garrison, Nia Williams and Madison Davis placed 10th in the girls’ 10-under relay.
