Five Tiger Sharks Place In Pentathalon

The Commerce Tiger Sharks hit the road recently for the first of several meets.

The Tiger Sharks took part in the North Georgia Swim League Pentathalon, an event for experienced swimmers, at the Winder-Barrow YMCA back on June 12.

In the event, each swimmer must swim all four strokes as well as the individual medley. All the times are combined and the top 10 fastest times are awarded ribbons.

Of the 14 Tiger Sharks to take part, five placed in the top 10.

They included Kate Massey, seventh, girls’ 10-under; Kendell Moon, fifth, girls’ 12-under; Emmea Burley, ninth, girls’ 14-under class; Dalton Dean, 10th, boys’ 14-under; and Hayden McRee, eighth, girls’ 18-under.

The Tiger Sharks were next slated to compete in a dual meet at Sterling on the Lake, but that meet was cancelled due to rain.

Up next is the Dacula Invitational Saturday, which is an designed for developmental swimmers.
