Madison County wrapped up it’s summer baseball last week as the Red Raiders played in the Brookwood Tourney on Friday and Saturday. According to coach Charlie Griffeth, the summer was “very productive after a slow start.”
“We went 4-0 in the last tournament,” Griffeth said, Summer, for us, is mostly about getting guys more experience.”
The Red Raiders used this summer to experiment with guys, especially rising varsity players, in defensive positions.
“We played a lot of innings in a short period, so pitchers got a lot of work,” said Griffeth.
Madison played in two tournaments this summer as well as several games against Franklin County among others.
