Sometimes you get lucky.
I’ve used those four words numerous times in describing this paper’s working relationship with our photographer Jessica Brown.
From the first time we sent her on an assignment, her skills were obvious. Time after time, quality photo after quality photo, she has shined for this paper.

As someone who has known Chris since we were both much younger than Miss Brown, I wanted to say how touching this column is. I know what Jessica means to Chris and how much it has meant to him to be able to mentor her at the newspaper. Chris never stops bragging on Miss Brown and her family as a whole. Congratulations Jessica on your awards. Chris often says the paper couldn't make it without your contributions. The awards you've won clearly show why.

I believe one of the highest forms of recognition is to sing a person's praise for all to hear or in this case read. This is a very touching tribute.

I like the columns Chris writes and photos Jessica takes. It's what makes The Barrow Journal sports the best.

Chris, no better words could have been spoken. Your column is a testament to this persons talent. When I was there and involved with you and the paper on a regular basis it was a joy to see her work and work with the Barrow Journal. It is a good thing she was recognized for her talent and dedication to her craft it was well deserved and a compliment to an outstanding sports section.
