Before the 2010 golf season even began, Apalachee High School coach Kevin Morris had a feeling about Shelby Hanna.

Morris predicted the Lady Wildcat freshman would likely be the team’s No. 1 golfer before the season was over. As it turned it, it didn’t take the entire season, or even most of it, before Hanna made her impact known.

Hanna became the driving force for the AHS girls this spring and helped lead the Lady Wildcats to the Class AAAA state tournament. For her efforts, the AHS freshman was recently named to the All-Northeast Georgia team by the Athens Banner-Herald.

Hanna was the lone Barrow County golfer chosen for the team and Morris expects her to shatter the school record book before her career is complete.
