Summer baseball practice in full swing

Banks County’s diamond Leopards continue their summer training this week as the boys prepare to play the summer series with their first games next week against Commerce and Franklin.

The Leopards will play their first game of the summer on Tuesday as Banks takes on Commerce in a doubleheader at Commerce. Game one starts ate 5:30 p.m.

Next Wednesday, June 16, Banks County heads to Franklin County to a 9 inning game against the Lions.

Coach Dean Goodwin and assistant coaches Brent Howell and Tony Bowen have spent the past several days working with the group on defensive techniques and out fielding. The change in leadership has appeared to acclimate quickly since the end of the season as the players work with Goodwin.

During practice last week, Goodwin and his staff were working on fielding with the diamond Leopards to perfect the defense. While the summer starts to heat up, the Leopards still have more work to do on the field.
