Madison County is going to be the site of a 24-hour war in just over a week.
Battlezone Paintball, off Neese Commerce Road, hosts the “Battle for Gotham: Joker versus Riddler” 24-hour paintball event, June 19-20. The battle begins at noon on Saturday and ends at noon on Sunday with organizers predicting non-stop action as the war wages.
Battlezone operator, Kerry “Gunner” Dudley provides the back-story based off the popular DC universe comic book character Batman.
“Gotham City has fallen into chaos since the disappearance of Batman. … The Joker’s crew runs the north side … the Riddler’s crew controls the south. A war has started, one everyone fears even Batman cannot stop.“
The game kicks off on Friday, June 18, with sign-in and a camping and party night featuring a free concert and a speedball show as well as a tank-versus-tank battle. The actual battle will begin on Saturday following the player briefing at 11:30 a.m.
The cost is $40 at the gate to play, but there are not any fees for bringing your own paint.
According to Dudley, there are an estimated 200 players set to attend the event including several from out of state. Players can dress up as the either the Joker or the Riddler. The battle will feature a paintball tank brigade and paint mines as well as prizes and awards.
Organizers said that safety is a main concern and that several of the referees who will be on the field during the battle are EMT certified or have training.
Players can start coming out to the field on June 18, around 3 p.m. with the concert and activities starting at dark.

I think paintball qualifies meeting that definition.
