Mill Creek senior Shawn Yim tied for seventh at the American Junior Golf Association's Knoxville Junior Open held August 4 through August 7.
Conducted by the American Junior Golf Association, the AJGA Knoxville Junior Open was a 54-hole stroke play event held at Tennessee National Golf Club. The tournament field consisted of 75 boys and 23 girls, ages 12-18, from 17 states and Italy.
John Skeadas of Savannah and Clark Palmer of Augusta were the two other Georgia golfers to finish in the top ten.
Brian Langley of Blacksburg, Va. won the tournament with a seven-under-par 209. Skeadas placed fifth with a 213 and Yim finished six strokes off the lead with a one-under-par 215. Palmer shot an even-par 216.
