Commerce Aquatic Center Now Open

Aquatics

The pool will be open until July 30 between 1:00 and 5:00 p.m. on Monday thru Saturdays. Admission is $1.50 daily for pre-school through high school and $3 for adults. Season passes are available at the CPRD office. Swimsuits are required and young children must wear rubber pants or swimming diapers. Swimmers under the age of 8 must be supervised.

Tiger Sharks

The competitive Tiger Shark Swim Club has two age divisions. The Minnows group is for swimmers 5-6. Children must have completed swim lessons before joining and turn 5 before June 1. The Tiger Sharks is for swimmers 7-18 who already know how to swim. Tiger Shark team members also have the opportunity to qualify for the GRPA State swim meet. Registration costs $70 for city residents and $90 for non-residents. Deadline for registration is Friday.

Swim Classes

CPRD will offer swim classes in a five-day session for children 3-4 starting June 21. The 45-minute daily classes begin at 9:45 a.m. The cost is $50 for city residents and $70 for non-residents.
A more advanced class is available for ages 5-12. Two separate eight-day sessions will be held on weekdays only. The first session is June 7-16 and the second is June 28-July 7. The one-hour class begins at 9:45 a.m. Registration is $50 for city residents and $70 for non-residents.

Evening classes and private lessons are available for swim classes. Call the Recreation Office at 706-335-3236 for more information.
