Trey Sorrells and Austin Robinson have been selected to be part of the first ever Georgia Dugout Club 16U Team GA.
In the past, the Georgia Dugout Club has hosted a Senior Team GA and Junior Team GA for the best players in their respective classes and this year have expanded it to include a 16U team.
Sorrells and Robinson were chosen amongst all freshmen and sophomores in the entire state and will represent the state of Georgia this summer in two national tournaments in West Palm Beach, Florida and Cary, North Carolina. Both tournaments will be against other 16U teams representing their respective states. The tournament in Cary, N.C. will be played at the USA Baseball Training Facility.
“We’re excited that our guys are getting some statewide recognition for their efforts on the field,” said coach Tommy Fountain. “It is great to have these guys, along with guys like Quinn Grogan and Andy Williams, all be a part of a very special sophomore class. When you take those five guys that have seen significant varsity time and then add what’s coming up the ranks, you can’t help but think about what
the future holds for our program.
“Trey and Austin will represent us well this summer and will get an opportunity to play against some of the best 16U baseball players in the nation. That’s only going to make them and our program better.”
