WBHS to complete spring work Tuesday

The Winder-Barrow High School football team will host a spring scrimmage Tuesday at 7 p.m. at W. Clair Harris Stadium.

Coach David Wagner said the event will last approximately 90 minutes. Admission will be $3 and concessions and booster club information and materials will be available.

The event will be a "controlled scrimmage," Wagner said Sunday, giving all players a chance to get on the field.

Tuesday's event will not be a complete scrimmage resembling a game, rather more of a controlled workout.

"We actually have the numbers to do it," Wagner said. "But the knowledge is not there yet, especially with the younger players."

Wagner and the Bulldogg coaching staff are installing a Wing-T offense for 2010 along with a 4-3 defense. Wagner is in his first season at WBHS after working several successful seasons as defensive coordinator at Apalachee. The AHS Wildcats, run similar offensive and defensive schemes to what Wagner is installing for the Bulldoggs.
