The Commerce diamond Tigers suffered a pair of first-round blowouts last Friday as Landmark Christian end Commerce’s run in the Class A state baseball tournament.
In the first game, Landmark slammed the Tigers 15-0 and then hammered them 11-2 in the second game.
The Tigers end the 2010 season under .500, 12-14 overall, earning the number three seed in the region with a 12-4 region mark. Coach Steve Cotrell sees room for improvement.
“The best thing for us would have been to not put ourselves into a position as the third seed and have to go on the road in the first round of playoffs and play a team that will probably win the whole thing,” said Cotrell. “We did not play bad at all.”
