Five Dragons prepare for state meet

Five members of the Jefferson Dragons boys track and field team are getting ready for this weekend’s state meet at Jefferson.

Tyler Porter qualified with a first place effort in the pole vault. Also advancing off of a first place effort was Josh Kles in the discus and in the shot put. Derrick Perkins won in the 110-meter hurdles and placed second in the pole vault.

Sky Porter moved on to state with a second place in the pole vault. Derrick Perkins placed second in the triple jump to move on.

The state meet gets underway Thursday, running through Saturday at Memorial Stadium in Jefferson.
