CHS Faces Landmark Fri.

Commerce’s diamond Tigers secured their spot in the post-season with a pair of wins last week to close out the regular season, 12-4 in region play, 12-12 overall and third in region 8-A.

The first step into the post-season for the Tigers is against Landmark Christian. Commerce heads to Fairburn on Friday to play the War Eagles in a doubleheader.

Game one starts at 5:00 p.m. If needed, a third game will be played on Saturday to determine which team advances into the Sweet 16.

Last week, Commerce finished the season strongly with wins over Social Circle and Athens Christian.

On Tuesday, the Tigers beat Social Circle in the final home game 19-4. The win was also a highlight for the four senior players, Carl Allen, Josh Streetman, Greg Hayes and Mason Westmoreland, as the team celebrated senior night.

Josh Swistak got the win.

He pitched three innings, fanning four batters and giving up three hits for four runs, two earned.

At the plate the entire lineup delivered.
