Banks County’s boys’ track team finished its region meet Tuesday in Jefferson. Due to the inclement weather over the weekend, the first day of the competition was held on Friday.
The Leopards finished with 34 points across 16 events for seventh place. North Oconee took the region championship with 143 points over Oglethorpe (105) and Jefferson (95).
East Jackson (72.5) and Walnut Grove (38.5) finished fifth and sixth, while Dawson County (27) took eighth. Rabun (20) and Fannin (7) also competed.
While Banks did not qualify any athletes for state, the Leopards did have several athletes who performed well.
