The Jackson County boys track team came home with a second place result from a tri-meet with Jefferson and Commerce at JHS Tuesday.
The Panthers scored 53 points to winner Jefferson’s 84.5.
Commerce trailed both teams, scoring 31.5 points.
Winners included Charles Smothers in the long jump, Peter Thao in the 800-meters, Zane Cochran in the 200-meters and D.J. Ledford in the 3200-meters.
The 4x100 relay team of Cochran, Darien Rollins, Jonathan Holton and Smothers also won.
Others placing included Jordan Perez in the shot put and discus, Robert Stephens in the shot put, Dustin Scott in the triple jump and Daivon Ledford in the 300-meter hurdles.
Up next for the Panthers is the boys region meet, being held Friday through Monday at JCCHS.
