Lady Tigers Head To Region

Commerce’s track teams are nearing the finish of the regular season.

The Lady Tigers’ region meet will be this Saturday at Athens Academy while the boys have another week before heading to compete at region.

Both teams competed last week at East Jackson.

The Thursday tri-meet among East Jackson, Banks County and Commerce had Commerce taking second in both divisions.

The Lady Tigers scored 61 points, following the Lady Eagles’ 75 points and ahead of Banks’ 37.

The Tigers scored 56 points to defeat Banks County by 26 points and following East Jackson’s lead of 84 points.

Individual results from the East Jackson tri-meet were unavailable at press time.

Following this week’s girls’ region meet at Athens Academy, the boys will compete at Jefferson on Tuesday, at 4:15 p.m.

Next Saturday, May 1, the Tigers head to Athens Academy to compete in the 8-A boys’ region meet.
