East Jackson Wraps Up Soccer Seasons

The East Jackson soccer teams wrapped up their seasons this week, playing their last two matches of the year.

Last Wednesday, East Jackson hosted Banks County and fell 2-0 to the Leopards.

The girls, meanwhile, outscored the Lady Leopards 2-0.

On Saturday, the Eagles brought their season to a close by hosting the Jefferson Dragons.

It was a good way to end the season, as East Jackson recorded a 2-0 shutout over the Dragons. Jonathan Zarco and Victor Equiarte scored the goals for the Eagles.

“They played a good solid game, did not allow Jefferson many opportunities to score and had a lot of attacking play,” said coach Chris Cooley.

The Eagles ended their season with a 4-10 record.

The Lady Eagles had a good end to their regular season as well, picking up a 1-0 win over the Lady Dragons.

The win left East Jackson tied with Walnut Grove for a playoff spot, but they will miss out due to the head-to-head tiebreaker rule.

The Lady Eagles end their season with a 7-5 record.
