Dragons defeat Banks County

Banks County

The Dragons played host to the Leopards of Banks County last Wednesday.

The Leopards took control early, putting one run across in the top of the first.

But in the bottom of the third, Jefferson came roaring back, putting four runs on the board to move ahead by three. They would add two more in the bottom of the fourth, one run in the bottom of the fifth and two in the bottom of the sixth, all while holding Banks County scoreless. Neither team scored in the seventh inning, as the Dragons came away with the 9-1 victory.

Jamie Sexton recorded the win from the mound, giving up just two hits and one run while striking out six in seven innings.

Jake Fields went 2-3 from the plate with two RBIs. Andrew Bartek went 2-4 with two RBIs. Kyle Hardy went 2-3 with one RBI. Drew Carson went 1-3 with an RBI. Caleb Meek went 1-3 with an RBI and a homerun.

The Dragons were next scheduled to play Commerce on Monday. However, that game was cancelled due to a packed schedule on the side of both teams.

Walnut Grove

On Tuesday, the Dragons played host to the Warriors of Walnut Grove.

Jefferson took control early on, putting three runs across in the first, two in the second and another five in the third, all while holding Walnut Grove scoreless. The game would end in five innings, with Jefferson winning 10-0.
