After splitting last week between a loss to East Jackson and a win over Walnut Grove, the Banks County diamond Leopards have a challenging time ahead this week.
Ahead for the Leopards is the make up game from last Thursday against Jefferson.
The Dragons will host Banks today (Wednesday) at 5:30 p.m. The Jefferson game follows Tuesday’s game at North Oconee.

“This week will be a challenge for sure,” said head coach Joe Lord. “We have our work cut out for us with four games against tough teams. Jefferson is always good. They swing the bats well, and we will have to really locate strikes and play good defense.”
Lord was hopeful that the Leopards would play tough on Tuesday and hang in for the win. Results from Tuesday’s game were unavailable at press time.
Coming up on Friday, Banks County hosts Fannin County in a doubleheader that is a lynchpin for Banks in the region standings. Game one starts at 5 p.m.
“I am glad that we have Fannin at home and not up there, but they will come down here ready to play,” Lord said. “We are neck and neck with them in the standings right now, so those two games will be big games for us and them. I'm looking forward to a fun and exciting week and am interested to see how we'll fare.”
