It was a good outing for the Jackson County netters last week, as the boys picked up a win over Eastside in a 3-2 decision.
Lex Mosley won at number one singles 6-2, 6-1. First time singles player Matt Compton won at number three singles in two sets.
Franco Peredes and Bo Harris, who was playing his first match, also won at number two doubles 8-6 in an eight game pro set.
The girls came up short against Eastside, however, losing 3-2. Erin Gentry won in two sets at number one singles, while Rachel Glenfield won in straight sets at number two singles.
On Monday, Jackson County played host to Archer.
Archer came away with wins against both the boys and the girls, both with a score of 3-2.
Winning for the boys was Alec Housholder and Nick Buran at number one doubles with sets of 6-4, 6-2. Joel Oriaon and Chris Thao won at number two doubles with sets of 6-2, 6-2.
For the girls, Rachel Glenfield won at number three singles, while Addie Gooby and Jasmine Baker won at number one doubles.
The number two doubles team of Emmalee Vaughn and Heathery Husley lost after winning 6-2 in the first set, then dropping the second, as well as a final tiebreaker.
On Tuesday, Jackson County faced off against East Jackson. The girls came away with a win. Kelsee Ryan won at first singles. Erin Gentry won at number two singles. Rachel Glenfield won at number three singles. Addie Gooby and Jasmine Baker won at number two doubles.
The boys, meanwhile, lost 4-1. Lex Mosley won a three set match at first singles.
After a break, the Jackson County netters will return to action on April 14 with region tournament play at Morgan County.
