Diamond Tigers Struggle To Show Up

Following a 1-2 week, the Commerce baseball Tigers are still looking to play a complete seven-inning game.

“We have just go to show up and be ready to play from the beginning to the end,” said head coach Steve Cotrell. “We keep preaching [to the players] to play seven innings and the umpires will let you know when the game is over.”

Last week, Lakeview got away from Commerce in the bottom of the fourth and Eagles Landing took the lead away from the Tigers in the fifth.

With both losses fresh in his mind Cotrell looks to this week as the Tigers take on Towns County and Hebron in hopes of turning a 2-8 season around.

“The key this week is to show up ready to play and finish the game,” he said.

On schedule was Towns County Tuesday night at home in the fourth region game of the season. Results were unavailable at press time.

Coming up tomorrow (Thursday), the diamond Tigers head to Dacula to take on the 12-1 Hebron Christian Lions at 4:30 p.m.
Next Tuesday, the Tigers will host Tallulah Falls at 5:30 p.m.
