The Winder-Barrow High School varsity girls soccer team will begin the region portion of its schedule Friday against Heritage at home.
Coach Ben Arms’ squad has played well during the early portion of the season. The Lady Doggs tied Chestatee 1-1 Saturday with Rebekah Autry scoring the lone goal for WBHS.

Lady Doggs begin region play Friday
Last Wednesday, the Lady Bulldoggs defeated West Hall 2-0 on second half goals by Clara Tapplin and Rebekah Autry.
Autry also got the assist on the Tapplin goal. Jessica Maynard recorded six saves in getting her first shutout of the season.
On Feb 18, Breanna Steed had a goal and an assist in the win against Shiloh High School.
Jessie McWhorter and Clara Tapplin had goals. Georgia Stepp had an assist on the McWhorter goal. Noelani Woods had four saves in goal in debut as keeper.
“We have a fine mix of players so that goals can come from anyone,” Arms said. “We have depth on our bench for the first time in years. This will help us as the girls make a run to make the state playoffs this season. It’s hard to select a few players that are performing well when they are all doing good things on the field. But Rebekah is a phenomenonal player who really gets the girls to step up in their play.” We also have a good group of freshman who are contributing this season for the team.”
