Tough season now complete for AHS

“We had some good younger kids who got plenty of playing time this year,” Morris said. “We are still at the point where we need a lot of work.”

How soon does work begin for next season? Morris says immediately.

“I told the players next year starts the following day,” the coach said. “You have to get in the weight room. We have some work to do. We need to get some younger kids ready to play some big time varsity minutes in a hurry.”

The veteran AHS coach said the program will continue to be young in 2010-2011. This year’s team had three juniors and three sophomores.

Morris said his team always goes to Tennessee during the summer for camp and will also compete in a league formed by Monroe Area coach Ron Garren.

“We will play around 20 games and get plenty of practice in as well this offseason,” Morris said.
