The East Jackson soccer teams got their seasons under way last week.
On Friday, both teams traveled to Oglethorpe County. The girls came away with a 2-1 victory. It was the second victory over Oglethorpe for the Lady Eagles, who had also won a scrimmage game over them on Feb. 19.
The boys, meanwhile, had a scoreless game through regular time and double overtime before falling 4-3 on penalty kicks.
The boys went on to face Greene County at Oglethorpe on Saturday. The score remained tied 1-1 through regular time, and went into double overtime before Greene County moved ahead 2-1 for the win.
Both teams were slated to host Athens Christian Tuesday but the games were called off for snow.
Both teams will travel to Social Circle on Friday. The girls’ match is scheduled for a 5:30 p.m. start time, with the boys scheduled to play at 7:30 p.m.
