The Jefferson golf teams got their season underway Monday afternoon at Lane Creek Golf course against Oconee County.
The boys came up short in the team match, 173 to Oconee’s 161.
The boys were led by newcomer Cory Dams, with a 41. He was followed by Michael Baker with a 42, Cutler Finch with a 44 and Patrick Hilton with a 46.
Meanwhile, the girls came up short as well, 102 to Oconee County’s 79 in a match that was shortened due to darkness.
The girls were led by Brooke Whelchel, Kara Perry, Hanna Chapman and Paige Pate.
The Jefferson golf teams were slated to face Jackson County at Traditions on Tuesday, but that match was postponed due to wintry weather.
Up next, Jefferson will play host to Banks County at Traditions next Tuesday at 3:30 p.m.
