Panthers football looking for an edge

The Panther’s Touchdown Club furnished the renovated weight room, after head coach Billy Kirk picked out what equipment he felt was needed.

According to Kirk, the Touchdown club bought the weights, the Board of Education covered the floor, and he gets a facility that provides the players with what they need.

“We have 12 stations now,” said Kirk. “When I came here [last year] there were only four. We are going to work with what we have now and then hopefully replace the [older] machines so that everything is the same.”

The Panthers are in essence a young team having only five seniors due to the split to form East Jackson High School.

Kirk said that even with a young team he thinks this year Jackson County will have some good games.
