Banks County’s Mat Leopards were hoping for a better finish at the state tournament last week.
Banks placed 21st with one placer, Mason Patton at fifth in the 103-pound class at the traditional state tournament at the Gwinnett Arena.
Banks sent 11 grapplers through to the state meet. Changes in the scheduling of the matches due to the cancellation of the area tournament forced the first round matches to be single elimination.
Taking the top prize was Jefferson, followed by Henry County and Lovett. East Jackson finished behind Banks County tied for 39th place with Avondale.
