Lady Eagles End Season With Fall To Banks Co.

The Lady Eagles of East Jackson saw their season come to a close in the first round of region tournament play last week, as they fell 63-41 to Banks County.

The Lady Leopards took control early on, moving out to a 23-10 advantage by the end of the first quarter, and the Eagles could not recover.

East Jackson outscored Banks County 12-6 in the second period to make it 29-22 at the half, but Banks County’s 16-10 third-quarter run put the Leopards up 45-32 after three periods.


The Lady Leopards moved away down the stretch, scoring 18 more points while holding East Jackson to nine in the final period.

Callie Moore led the Eagle effort with seven points and three steals. Moore was also listed as an honorable mention for the region tournament. Abby Adams and Shelby Johnson scored six points apiece and Johnson had four assists. Mikki McGinnis had seven rebounds.

The Lady Eagles ended their season with a region record of 3-11 and went 6-19 overall.
