Mat Eagles End Season

East Jackson tied for 39th in the final standings at last weekend’s state traditional meet at the Gwinnett Arena, matching Avondale with a 12-point total.

Five Mat Eagles traveled to state competition, including Drew Hunter, Kevin Kesler, Charles Hulett, Wes Gutherie and Parker Wilson. Three wrestlers went out in the first round, while the other two were eliminated in the consolation rounds.

Due to the delay in the Area Tournament, the first round of the state meet was single elimination.
