Foul winter weather over the weekend delayed the Commerce Tigers from competing in the Area Tournament.
Due to the changes, the tournament was also condensed to a one-day event on Tuesday. Also, instead of the top four wrestlers advancing to the state round, the top eight will advance to the first round of the state tournament for a single-elimination competition.
Commerce got Wednesday off before starting the State Tournament. Tiger grapplers competing for state titles hit the mats at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The state competition runs through Saturday at the Gwinnett Arena.
